Innsbruck – Heart of the Alps

Anyone coming to Innsbruck will experience a city rich in history and culture. Embedded in the Tyrolean mountains and right at the foot of the majestic Nordkette - the location alone enchants both locals and guests. Tyrol's capital is an Alpine city, Olympic city, cultural city and university city. Innsbruck has something for everyone: tradition and modernity, art and culture, city and mountain ... the list could go on, Innsbruck is so multifaceted.   Numerous sights invite you to visit. The Imperial Palace (Hofburg) and Court Church (Hofkirche), the Golden Roof or Ambras Castle are a reminder of the splendid times of the Habsburgs. On the Bergisel, with its Ski Jump and the Tirol Panorama, history and modernity merge. Are you drawn to high alpine terrain? In less than 30 minutes from the city center, the Nordkette Cable Car takes you to the top of the Hafelekar mountain (2.269 m). Nowhere are city and mountain so close to each other.

Our recommendations:

Linger a moment on the Inn Bridge to enjoy the view of colorful house facades against the breathtaking mountain backdrop of the Nordkette. Take some time to enjoy the flair of the city  and why not for a coffee with pastires in one of the nice cafes and confectioneries. Also the Old Town and Maria Theresien Street invite to stroll and go shopping.
