Tratzberg Castle
Tratzberg Castle with its well-preserved interior is a true Renaissance jewel and is one of the most beautiful castles in Austria!
High above the Inn River, between Jenbach and Schwaz, Tratzberg Castle can be seen from afar. The castle was first mentioned in documents in the 13th century and served as a border fortress against Bavaria. Emperor Maximilian I, one of the many illustrious owners´ of the castle, used it as a hunting lodge. Ravaged by fire at the end of the 15th century, it was rebuilt in the transitional period from Gothic to Renaissance.
Tratzberg Castle can be easily reached from the valley by the "Tratzberg Express" slow train.
Swarovski Crystal Worlds
The Swarovski Crystal Worlds are among the most visited sights in Austria. They were opened in 1995 on the occasion of the centennial anniversary of the company’s founding.
With the Swarovski Crystal Worlds, multimedia artist André Heller designed a unique place of fantasy. In 17 Chambers of Wonder, great names from art, design and architecture present their very own interpretations of crystal and crystalline forms.
Chamber of Wonder “Silent Light” - eternal winter magic: The snow flutters quietly and continually in the Swarovski Crystal Worlds thanks to the new poetic snow installation "Silent Light": A snow-covered crystal tree and crystalline forest animals in the midst of a bitterly cold winter landscape. Inside the chamber of wonder, there are constant sub-zero temperatures, regardless of the outside temperatures. Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
