East Tyrol

East Tyrol promises unforgettable nature experiences in an almost untouched mountain world.  The region offers a variety of interesting destinations and sights, including the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and the sunny town of Lienz.

Grossglockner High Alpine Road

It is one of the most scenic and breath-taking mountain roads in the Alps! With a length of 48 km and 36 turns, it takes us deep into the centre of Austria's largest national park. The highest point of the mountain road is just over 2.500 m. From the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, a fantastic view opens up of the 3.798-metre high Großglockner, the highest mountain in Austria. At its foot lies the Pasterze, the largest glacier in the Eastern Alps.

South Tyrol

It's only a short 35-kilometre drive from Innsbruck to South Tyrol!

Dolomites- UNESCO World Heritage Site

We will guide you through the Dolomites, the "most beautiful structure in the world". Amidst the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site of the Dolomites lie the Olympic ski resort Cortina d'Ampezzo along with such renowned and legendary natural gems:

  • Lake Carezza
  • Catinaccio Group
  • Three Peaks of Lavaredo
  • Alpe di Siusi
  • Marmolata

Bolzano and Ötzi

South Tyrol's capital Bolzano has a lot to offer. During a city walk we will show you the historic city centre with its numerous sights.

If you want to learn more about Ötzi, the glacier mummy, you should give the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology a visit.

Are you a connoisseur of good wines? Then we recommend a visit to the wine cellars in the Bolzano area or take a side trip along the South Tyrolean Wine Road to Kaltern.

Merano - Historical Spa Town

Merano on the River Passer is South Tyrol's second largest city. The city enchants with its Mediterranean flair with extensive parks, green promenades and botanical gardens. During our city tour we will show you:

  • the medieval old town
  • the sovereign´s castle
  • the parish church of St. Nicholas
  • the Kurhaus and Theatre
  • the Sisi Monument along the summer promenade
  • the Wandelhalle (a historic covered passageway) on the Winter Promenade and much more

Don´t miss:

Visit with us Trauttmansdorff Castle in the midst of its magnificent gardens and let yourself be fascinated by the uniquely laid out garden landscapes. Empress Elisabeth also loved the spa town and spent several months at Trauttmansdorff Castle on the eastern outskirts of Merano. Today, it houses the Provincial Museum of Tourism.
