Duration: 2 to 3 hours
Sprungschanze Innsbruck
A drive through Innsbruck´s most interesting districts
The tour passes the Imperial Court Garden and takes you through the idyllic district of Saggen with its elegant Gründerzeit villas. It also goes through Innsbruck´s oldest district St. Nicholas and crosses the famous Inn bridge with a stunning view of the Old Town.
The route continues to Wilten, Innsbruck´s southernmost district, famous for:
• The Rococo Basilica of Wilten
• The Grassmayr bell foundry
• The Triumphal Arch
Together we will explore the Bergisel, known by locals as the “Schicksalsberg“ (mountain of fate). Due to its elevated position the Bergisel has always been a site of great importance for Tyrol: in 1809 the Tyrolean freedom fighters struggled here for the country´s freedom and since 1953 it is the venue of the annual Four Hills Tournament (short stop to enjoy the wonderful view over the city).
The old town – a journey into Innsbruck´s past
During our walking tour we will discover Innsbruck´s imperial past:
• The Imperial Court Garden
• The Imperial Palace
• The Court Church (known by locals as Black Men Church)
The baroque Cathedral of St. James is also worth a visit. Its history reaches back to the 12th century and is closely linked to the foundation of the city.
The city’s most famous landmark is the Golden Roof, with its 2.657 fire-gilded copper tiles.
History is brought to life by looking at these fantastic buildings and by listening to the stories and anecdotes about Innsbruck´s past.
After a stroll through picturesque, narrow streets and past colourful historical town houses, the tour will conclude in the Maria Theresien Street with its splendid baroque architecture.
Bottom line - our Classic City Tour gives you a fantastic overview of the city and the opportunity to explore a lot in little time.

The Maria Theresien Street is a great place for shopping and for having a cup of coffee at one of the numerous outdoor cafés.
