Niederthai - Ötztal
On our Valley Tour we will discover the following valleys:
- Wipptal
- Stubaital
- Sellraintal
- Nedertal
- Ötztal
- Inntal
Wipptal
From Innsbruck, the fastest way to reach the Stubaital is via the Brenner motorway.
The first fantastic view of the Stubai Glacier, which is located at the end of the valley, opens up shortly after the Europa Bridge.
Stubaital
With its 35 kilometres and its 5 villages, it is the longest and largest side valley of the Wipptal. Some of Tyrol´s highest peaks are located in the Stubai Alps, including the 3.507 m high Zuckerhütl. Not only is it the highest peak of the Stubai Alps, it is also one of the famous "Seven Summits" and thus one of the most impressive and distinctive peaks in the Stubaital.
Tradition and history, rural cultural landscapes, green alpine pastures, breath-taking mountain scenery and roaring waters – all this is what the Stubaital offers.
On our way through the valley, we make a stop at the "WildeWasserWeg" (WildWaterTrail), which leads us to the mighty Grawa waterfall. It is considered to be the widest waterfall in the Eastern Alps.
A short walk through Neustift with a visit to the parish church of St. George is also worthwhile.
Sellraintal
We reach the idyllically situated Kühtai (2.020 m) via the Sellraintal. The former cow pasture developed over the centuries into a hunting lodge of archdukes, emperors and counts.
The Kühtaier Dorfstadl has long ceased to be an insider tip. You should definitely try the delicacies from the Dorfstadl kitchen!
Nedertal – Ötztal – Inntal
We continue over the wildly romantic Nedertal into the Ötztal.
During a short tour of Oetz, we will show you hidden historic inns, some of them with magnificent façade paintings.
Afterward we leave the Ötztal and drive back to the Inntal.
The Ötztal offers a big variety of sightseeing destinations:
- Drive and hike to the Stuiben waterfall
- Drive to Sölden and on to the Timmelsjoch (2.474 m)
- Drive to Vent and walk to the Rofenhöfe (Rofen farms)
